MLM opportunities abound but few meet our standards.
We have joined some we believe are awesome but not joined others we think are just as good. The reasons are simple; we found, researched and joined one before we found the other and we can’t join ‘em all!
However, please do keep in mind that if you find one that you really like it is quite possible we will join in order to be above you in the organization. If it is on this list, we think very highly of it and will look at joining up as the opportunity presents itself.
We are active and supportive of everything we do and are becoming full-time in this effort! We can afford to be involved in multiple efforts. (We also believe you cannot recommend something that you don’t try or at least aren’t willing to try.)
Do not hesitate to suggest an opportunity, but please note that if it does not meet our standards it will be rejected. It is also possible to suggest something good enough and still have it rejected for the simple reason that something similar is already on the list.
We will invite experienced people to post their opportunities here even if we do not participate in them. Once we are involved with ‘our limit’ of business we will continue to post good reviews provided by people we research and find we can trust. Our goal is to provide a service to you rather than simply indoctrinate you into our companies.
Basic Standards
The company must be solid, in the black, and stable. If the company is new then it must be in the black and the parent company or the founder must be solid, with years of background that is an exact fit for the new effort. We prefer older companies because they have proven themselves over time. We will not, however, discount the idea of a ‘ground floor opportunity’ and some of these are on the list.
The founding members must have totally clean-slate backgrounds.
The product or service should be ‘world changing’ within its market niche. It does not have to be unique but that helps.
The product or service should be available at reasonable cost (without inflated prices) whether you are a member or not. ‘Buying from yourself’ should be a benefit rather than an obligation unless you would be ready, willing and wanting to buy it with or without the MLM provider. (You should not have to ‘convince yourself’ of the value.)
The cost to join should be recoverable whether you recruit others or not. If you must recruit in order to recoup your costs to join it’s a red flag. This ‘red flag’ can be overcome if the product or service is extraordinarily solid, revolutionary, etc.
Product Standards – Health
In the case of non-vitamin health products, the product should have unimpeachable scientific backing and research and should be revolutionary. Something that is simply ‘healthy’ or ‘good for you’ is generally not enough as such foods, drinks and supplements are openly available at the corner health food store without the burden of contracts or shipping costs.
More, if a supplement has been added to a particular drink, that will usually not pass the ’sniff test’. If a supplement is capable of being put in ‘anything’ it needed to have been distributed dry rather than tied to another product that boosts the price or causes shipping costs to skyrocket. Pricing for supplements should not exceed about $2 per serving all costs included. Pricing for vitamins should be much less per serving – about half. Pricing must be comparable to locally available high quality products.
Other Consumables
Make up or other consumables such as energy drinks are unlikely to pass the test without help from some other aspect of the business. High quality products are almost always available locally at competitive prices so unless there is a truly compelling additional value proposition such items often fail because of the price.
Avon or Mary Kay, for instance, will pass the test because there is a personal advisor as a selling agent who helps you improve your appearance, learn about make up, etc., the product is delivered to you without extra cost and the prices are not out of line.
Ground Floor Opportunities
This special category exists because it is really hard to judge the explosive potential of a new opportunity. The most important aspect of the ‘GFO’ is that it must be unique within its market niche as well as meet the above criteria as much as possible.
In addition, if sure signs of explosive expansion are present, then the recommendation may become a ‘jump on this right now!’ screamer. Such a recommendation can only be given if – in addition to all other aspects – research online shows a real positive response in the marketplace.
An overabundance of complaints and bad reviews online will destroy the recommendation even if the product launch is growing at rocket-launch speeds.
Ratings and Other Reviews
We are investigating various online ratings and reviews and will pass the most relevant on by posting them here. Such ratings and reviews are sometimes limited in their usefulness, however, and such limitations should be acknowledged. One list, for instance, might review only businesses generating more than ‘X’ dollars in revenue, leaving many valid businesses out.
If you find a particularly good review source – one that is NOT tied in any way to the companies being reviewed – then please let us know.
